Procrastination

Quite amazing how varied M&Ms can be in size.

Quite amazing what I can do to not read my thesis over.

Interesting observation. Did you graph the M&Ms to see if their sizes were normally distributed? This also raises the question of whether M&M minis and chocolate bars are the result of natural variance in the M&M population, or forced selection.

Good luck with the defense.

Interestingly enough, the variation in size and shape is specific to the crispy variety of M&Ms. Normal M&Ms are much more uniform. Peanut M&Ms are a bit variable but crispy ones are usually lumpy, different sized, and blocthy in coat color. Minis are also quite uniform. I've spoken to M&M reps and they have said that they are DNA-free so I assume no selection occurs (lie).
